Springwinterfall

What's with the weather!
Here it is January 18th and every other day it seems we are seeing spring or fall temperatures.  And even the days we do have winter temperatures, for mid January they are only normal temperatures.  Ahh perhaps we are experiencing a "La Nino~" weather anomaly in the eastern and central equatorial Pacific Ocean.  You guessed it!  Yes we are.  It seems at though we are experiencing a "La Nino~" rather than the normal "El Nino~" in the far reaches of the southern pacific.  And when a "La Nino~" event occurs those of us who live in Central Pennsylvania, get to experience a warmer than normal winter.

The current prediction for the impact of the "La Nino~" that is occurring right now is that "during January - March 2012, there is an increased chance of above-average temperatures across the south-central and southeastern U.S., and below-average temperatures over the western and the northwest-central U.S."  This quote is taken directly from  the National Centers for Environmental Prediction.  You can check it all out by clicking on the link below.
By the way there is a name for the season we're currently experiencing.  It's "Springwinterfall."  Isn't that a wonderful name?
